Did you know

  • The Stargazer was created in 1974 by California lily grower Leslie Woodriff, who crossed several Oriental lily species to produce upward-facing blooms.
  • Before the Stargazer, most Oriental lilies faced downward — Woodriff wanted blooms that 'looked at the stars,' giving the cultivar its name.
  • Its powerful sweet-spicy fragrance is famous; one stem can perfume an entire room.
  • The Stargazer is now one of the most recognizable and best-selling cut flowers in the world, especially around Mother's Day and Valentine's Day.
  • Like all true lilies, Stargazers are extremely toxic to cats and should not be kept in homes with feline pets.
