- Despite its common name, Mexican foxglove is not related to true foxgloves (Digitalis) and is non-toxic.
- The compact rosette rarely exceeds 30 cm, making it ideal for terrariums and fairy gardens.
- It blooms prolifically even in deep shade — one of very few flowering plants that thrives with minimal light.
- The tiny tubular flowers attract small specialist bees in its native cloud forests.
