The Setup
Moments after a blinding light cue, Nick collapses by the snack table—felled by a single, precise stab from a pocket trim tool. The murder weapon is missing. A metallic clink echoed from the kitchen sink and the back door was ajar. Nick’s last words: “check the receipts.”

✅ Solution (for host eyes)
Killer: Colleen. Motive: worry that Nick would expose her “receipt sorcery” return hustle. She bought a TrimMate at 3:40 PM, returned at 4:12 PM, then used a brand-new trim tool during the blackout, rinsed it in the sink, wiped it with Chris’s towel, and yanked the drain with a florist ribbon loop—the clink everyone heard. Trash has the plastic clamshell. Cooper (the dog) points to sink & trash. “Check the receipts.”
